We are excited to share our first newsletter and update for the 2020-21 school year. Included in this message are updates from:

Casino Night/Poker Tournament Results

Thank you to everyone who participated in this year's fundraiser. It was a lot of fun and even through the event was held online, the Zoom function allowed everyone to socialize and connect.

Greenway and Ventura PTO committees raised almost $32,000 including proceeds from the online auction, We are exited to continue supporting Rancho Solano Schools as well as Teacher and Student Appreciation events.

Ongoing Passive Fundraising

Our PTO has been working hard to take advantage of many give back opportunities within our community. Below are a list of the ones that the PTO has chosen to begin this program with. Teacher & Student Apprecition

This year has been quite the challenge for all of us, especially our teachers with learning how to teach in-person and distance learners at the same time. In an attempt to help them get through the week, the GW PTO sponsored the Traveling Cup coffee truck each Friday for the first two months of school. Thank you to all our teachers!!

Online Book Fair

Greenway PTO held our first virtual Scholastic Book Fair in October. A big thank you to all who participated in this fair! With this fair we have been able to support our classrooms and teachers by putting close to $2000 worth of books in the classrooms and library.

Teacher Appreciation

Our teacher's have gone above and beyond this year to meet the needs of our student's education. We have stocked their lounge with weekly snacks, Funday Friday is a special treat day (caramel apples, chocolate strawberries, popcorn buffet) and the first Friday of every month a coffee truck!

Student Appreciation

The PTO also supports our student population with little gifts and treats throughout the year. We gifted all students and teachers customized water bottles for the new filtered water stations that the PTO is also helping support financially. ***Extra water bottles for sale at $10 each. See Bobbie at the front desk.***

Volunteers also delivered ice cream treats in September and Halloween candy bags in October.

Athletic Booster Club (ABC)

Founding Families Update

We are happy to announce we have exceeded our goal and now have 17 families and are moving forward with purchasing the must anticipated new trophy case for the Student Activities Center. If you have not donated but would still like to participate, please contact Coach Trigg or Debbie Shafron ASAP.

Committee for Arts and Performance (CAP)

We are very excited to announce the formation of the CAP Committee (Committee for Arts and Performance) as part of the RSPS non-profit PTO! RSPS has a strong and thriving cultural arts curriculum, with an amazingly gifted and dedicated faculty.

The goal of this committee is to help further strengthen the entire department by providing support for our wonderful staff, as well as improving participation in the arts at RSPS. We will be volunteering time to directly help our teachers, as well as working to raise funds to meet both immediate and long term needs. If your child enjoys fine arts, music, orchestra, theater, dance, and/or choir, this committee will be working hard to continue to heighten their learning experience, and bring even more opportunities to them as well as to our teachers.

As with many of our efforts, parent participation in this committee is essential to its success; if you’d like to help out in any way, please reach out to Karrin Taylor, at CAP@rspspto.org.
